Senior Vice-President, Finance; Port Authority of Jamaica
Mrs. Elva Williams-Richards is a professional with over twenty years of senior management experience which spans both the public and private sectors. Her area of expertise includes among others, management, financial accounting, and audit.
She is presently the Senior Vice President, Finance, Corporate Planning, Information Services & Materials Management, at The Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJ) since being promoted in September 2013. Prior, she was the Vice President, Finance, a position which she has held since 2006. Before joining the PAJ in 1995, she was employed to KPMG Peat Marwick where she worked in the areas of audit and accounting.
She is a team oriented individual, possessing excellent analytical, organizational and leadership skills. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Technology and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Liverpool. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ). Additionally she holds the designations, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered General Accountant (CGA). During her tenure at KPMG Peat Marwick and PAJ she garnered a wealth of experience in Operations Management, Strategic and Corporate Planning, Financial Management, Accounting and Auditing within the Port and Shipping industry.
In addition to being a member of the Board of Directors of Port Authority Management Services Limited, Ports Management & Security Limited and Jamaica International Free Zone Development Limited; Mrs. Williams-Richards also serves as a Trustee on both the PAJ and KCT Pension Committees and sits on the PAJ’s Finance Committee. She serves on several staff-related and social committees and is an active member of the PAJ’s sports and social club.
