CARICOM Office of Trade Negotiations

The CARICOM Office of Trade Negotiations (OTN), formerly known as the Caribbean Regional Negotiating Machinery (CRNM), was established by the CARICOM Heads of Government on the 1st April 1997 to coordinate the region’s participation in external trade negotiations. The OTN works closely with the Prime Ministerial Sub-Committee on External Trade Negotiations, which is chaired by the Prime Minister of Jamaica and the CARICOM Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED). Ambassador Gail Mathurin, a Jamaican national, has been the Director General of the OTN since July 2009. The OTN has offices in Barbados and Jamaica. The core objective of the OTN is to assist CARICOMMember States in developing an overall strategy for external trade negotiations. The OTN co-ordinates and negotiates external trade agreements for the Region. For further information, see https://www.crnm.org/
