Johnson Smith receives Courtesy Call from Canada‘s Parliamentary Secretary

Caption: Sen. the Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade received a courtesy call from Maninder Sidhu, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada on Thursday, November 10.

 

The Minister noted the strong, vibrant and longstanding partnership that Jamaica and Canada enjoy.

She thanked Canada for its partnership with the Seasonal Agricultural Workers’ Programme, noting the importance of the programme in improving the socio-economic status of Jamaicans.

They also spoke about the situation in Haiti, where the Minister conveyed gratitude to Canada for its continued engagements with the member states of CARICOM on the issue.

Matters related to gender equality and tourism were also discussed.
