Foreign Ministry and JSIF sign MOU for the distribution and utilisation of Diaspora donations for community development

Caption: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, signed an MoU with the Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) that would ensure a more targeted approach to the distribution and utilisation of Diaspora donations for community development.

 

Sen. The Hon. Leslie Campbell, Minister with Responsibility for Diaspora Affairs, Mr Omar Sweeney, Managing Director, JSIF and the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Amb. Sheila Sealy Monteith, who spoke at the signing, all agreed that the MoU would allow for a consolidation of Diaspora donations to be mobilised by JSIF and converted to benefit vulnerable communities. The MOU was signed on Wednesday, October 19.
