The Veterinary Services Division of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture & Fisheries (MICAF), has issued new guidelines for the importation of dogs and cats into Jamaica.
With the new guidelines, dogs and cats from countries on an approved list are now allowed entry into Jamaica, with effect from 14th September 2017, under the Animals Diseases (Importation) Control (Amendment) Regulations, 2017. This applies to both pets and service animals.
This notice, updated October 2017, and which is also available on the following website: http://www.moa.gov.jm/VetServices/Guidelines_Importation_Dogs_Cats_into_Jamaica.php, provides detailed information and procedures to be observed by importers of such animals.
