Caption: Foreign Affairs Minister, Senator the Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith on Friday, February 24 attended a reception to commemorate the 63rd birthday of the Emperor of Japan. The Minister congratulated His Majesty on achieving another milestone and on another successful year on the throne.
She also noted the very dynamic and active “J-J Partnership” between Jamaica and Japan, highlighting the significant events that took place over the past year. This include, the visit of the Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs and the high-level engagement of the first-ever visit of a Japanese Foreign Minister to Jamaica.
The Minister also made reference to the cooperation with Japan at the regional and international levels, particularly through CARICOM and the United Nations respectively.
