UNDP Country Representative bids farewell

Caption: Mrs. Denise Antonio, outgoing United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Resident Representative paid a Farewell Call on Minister of State, the Hon. Alando Terrelonge and Ambassador Sheila Sealy Monteith, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.

 

The Minister expressed appreciation for the vibrant Jamaica-UNDP engagement and highlighted the close collaboration on climate change mitigation, youth empowerment and the push toward the simultaneous achievement of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Jamaica’s National Development Plan – Vision2030.

For her part, the outgoing Resident Representative, pointed out that the efficiency of the country’s justice system has been boosted by effective #South-South cooperation. She agreed with Minister Terrelonge that “amplifying the youth voice is also a top UNDP priority”. (Oct 17)
