Johnson Smith kicks off the 77th Session of United Nations General Assembly in New York at the CELAC-ACS Breakfast Meeting

Caption: Foreign Affairs Minister, Sen. the Hon Kamina Johnson Smith kicked off the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) High Level Week at the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States-Association of Caribbean States (CELAC-ACS) Breakfast Meeting on Monday, September 19. In her remarks, the Minister shared that that global challenges have regional consequences and solutions. She stated that Jamaica supports the strengthening of cooperation mechanisms and the opportunities signalled by the inaugural engagement.

The country also endorsed the Declaration in support of Haiti as well as CELAC & ACS Action Plans which address post pandemic recovery, inclusion, transportation; digital transformation; Disaster Risk mitigation and effective South-South cooperation.
