Johnson Smith pays courtesy call on Argentine counterpart on the margin of the 39th Session ECLAC Meeting

Caption: Sen. the Hon Kamina Johnson Smith, was in Buena Aires, Argentina, for the 39th Session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) from Monday,  October 24 through to Wednesday, October 26. She paid a courtesy call on H.E. Santiago Andres Cafiero, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of the Republic of Argentina today (Oct.25) at the Argentine Foreign Ministry – San Martin Palace.

 

The diplomats who were meeting in person for the first time, discussed Bilateral Cooperation, the importance of commemorating 60 years of Jamaica/Argentina diplomatic relations in 2023, Multilateral Cooperation, the importance of CELAC, climate change and ways to build resilience in the Caribbean region, among other issues.  The two Ministers also shared perspectives on the situation in Haiti.
