Mexico’s gift of scanning equipment to aid Jamaica’s archiving capabilities

Caption: Scanning equipment including a Model 5 Bookeye scanner, to aid in Jamaica’s conservation of Historical Archives, was on Tuesday, April 18 presented to Mrs. Juliet Holness, wife of the Prime Minister of Jamaica by Dr. Beatriz Gutiérrez Müellere, wife of the President, United Mexican States.

 

In expressing her appreciation, Sen. the Hon. Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister, Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, who witnessed the presentation, said the equipment, which will be housed at the Jamaica Archives and Records Department, which falls under the Office of the Prime Minister; “Will certainly support the government’s efforts to preserve the information and records that are critical to our identity as a people.”
