Celebrating 60 Years of Canada-Jamaica Development Cooperation

Undoubtedly, the Development Cooperation Programme that we proudly celebrate today is a shining example of what can be achieved when we work together.”- Sen. the Hon Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, at a commemorative reception for 60 Years of Canada-Jamaica Development Cooperation held on Wednesday,  Jan. 11 at the High Commissioner’s residence.

 

The event which also served as a welcome function for the Hon. Harjit Sajjan (Saj’un), Minister of International Development who is also responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada, saw Minister Johnson Smith highlighting some of the areas in which Jamaica and Canada, “collaborated on issues of mutual interest and concern, notably: climate and economic resilience; sustainable and inclusive governance; human rights, gender equality; and health at the technical, Ministerial, as well as at the level of our Heads of Government.”
