Minister Terrelonge receives Courtesy Call from Jamaica’s Ambassador to Switzerland

Caption: State Minister, the Honourable Alando Terrelonge received a Courtesy Call from Jamaica’s Ambassador-designate to Switzerland, Dr. Richard Brown this afternoon (Oct 4).

The Ambassador-designate outlined the opportunities for boosting trade and investment between European and Jamaican markets, under the Economic Diplomacy Programme. While noting that Jamaica has experienced nine quarters of economic growth, the Minister emphasised that the country must be viewed as a destination for trade and investment.

During the discussion, Dr. Brown also apprised the Minister of plans to bolster Jamaica’s cooperation with international organisations, including the International Maritime Organization and the World Health Organization, with a view to address priority areas of concern for Jamaica.

Additionally, Dr. Brown noted the importance of expanding Jamaica’s network of Honorary Consuls in secondary cities in Europe, in order to promote trade, investment and tourism.
