Ministers Johnson Smith and Terrelonge receive courtesy call from Jamaica’s Consul General in Toronto

Caption: Senator the Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and State Minister, Hon. Alando Terrelonge met with Jamaica’s Consul General in Toronto, Mr. Kurt Davis in his first Courtesy Call paid to the Ministers since his appointment

 

The Consul General seized the opportunity to provide an extensive update on the Consulate’s work including the expansion and improvement of customer services to Jamaicans in Canada.

The Ministers welcomed the plans articulated by the Consul General to further bolster engagement with youth in the Canadian diaspora, through the Global Jamaica Diaspora Council and the Global Jamaica Diaspora Youth Council.

Discussions also included the promotion of the Diaspora Conference in 2024 and the engagement of the diaspora in trade, commerce and investment.
