100th anniversary of Louise Bennett Coverley’s birth

September marked the 100th anniversary of Louise Bennett Coverley’s birth. Many persons including Ministers of Government gathered at the National Heroes Circle to pay tribute to the national icon fondly, referred to as Miss Lou.

Minister Johnson Smith and family members laid floral tributes, whilst others paid homage through the arts to one of Jamaica’s most loved cultural icon.
