IAEA donates equipment to Jamaica to strengthen the country’s local capacity to manage COVID-19:

Minister Johnson Smith is extending gratitude to the United States for funding the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) donation of two RT-PCR machines and 2000 test kits, which she notes will strengthen Jamaica’s local capacity to manage the COVID-19 pandemic.

In lauding the US at a handover ceremony held at the National Public Health Laboratory on Thursday (July 16), the Minister noted that “Jamaica’s ability to weather the COVID-19 storm has been greatly enhanced by early and wide-ranging support provided by the US by way of mobilization of significant resources through the USAID and the CDC.”
