Jamaica launched its candidature to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council 2022-2025

Jamaica today (May 26) launched its candidature to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council 2022-2025 during a ceremony at the Foreign Ministry.

Speaking at the launch, Foreign Affairs Minister, Sen. the Hon. Kamina Johnson Smith noted that, “There is no better time for Jamaica to assume its seat at the table of international discourse on aviation, as we progress as a country, and indeed as we reposition international aviation post-pandemic.”

Being granted a seat on the ICAO Council would allow Jamaica to participate more meaningfully in the decision making processes of the organization.
