Jamaica receives medical equipment from the People’s Republic of China

Caption: Jamaica’s healthcare system received a boost from the People’s Republic of China following the donation of medical equipment which were officially handed over to the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MoHW) on Wednesday (Dec 6).

Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign, Hon. Alando Terrelonge, who attended the handing over ceremony, said the additional equipment will strengthen the Government’s capacity to provide superior treatment to citizens.

He added that the Jamaica-China relationship which spans more than five decades, has yielded substantial benefits across various domains. This robust partnership has fostered significant advancements in infrastructure development, facilitated educational exchanges, and bolstered trade cooperation. These collaborative efforts have not only spurred economic growth but have also greatly enhanced cultural understanding and exchange, among other notable benefits

Chinese Ambassador, His Excellency Chen Daojiang, and Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr. the Honourable Christopher Tufton, were also in attendance.
