Jamaica’s Foreign Minister holds bilateral discussions with Colombia’s Vice Minister of Multilateral Affairs

Elizabeth Inés Taylor Jay, Vice Minister of Multilateral Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Colombia, within the margins of the 9th ACS Summit held on May 12 in Antigua, Guatemala.

 

Discussions centred on the development of a strategy to preserve oral cultural heritage in the region; advancing bilateral cooperation; and the development of monitoring and evaluation mechanism for key bilateral projects between Jamaica and Colombia. The Minister also highlighted the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between both countries which has led to mutual support for candidatures in the multilateral fora.

Minister Johnson Smith also expressed appreciation to the Colombian Navy for their efforts in assisting Jamaicans distressed at sea back to safety.
