Johnson Smith bids Indian High Commissioner to Jamaica farewell- In a farewell courtesy call today, Senator the Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith commended the outgoing Indian High Commissioner to Jamaica—H.E. Mr. M. Sevala Naik—for his outstanding contribution towards strengthening the longstanding relationship between Jamaica and India. During their exchange, the Foreign Minister highlighted H.C. Naik’s efforts in securing many high-level engagements between the both countries since his appointment in September 2016.

Johnson Smith also used the opportunity to express appreciation for the recent donation of medical supplies to support Jamaica’s COVID-19 response as well as India’ consistent contribution to human resource development and capacity building through the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme.

H.C. Naik’s tour of duty will come to an end in the final week of June.
