Johnson Smith participates in bilateral meeting with the United Nations Secretary General

Caption: Sen. the Hon Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, supported the Most Hon. Prime Minister in the High-Level discussions with the United Nations Secretary General, António Guterres at the Offices of the Prime Minister (May 15).

 

Discussion items included: impact of the climate crisis in the Caribbean; the global framework for disaster risk reduction; Haiti; Jamaica’s leadership in efforts to reform the global financial architecture with a focus on developing countries’ access to financing for development.

Jamaica and Canada are co-chair of the Group of Friends on Sustainable Development Goals SDG) Financing.
