Johnson Smith reaffirms importance of multilateral system; Urges ambitious targets mechanism for global growth

Caption: Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Minister, Sen. the Hon. Kamina Johnson Smith, in her address at the 14th Global Governance Group 3Gs) Ministerial Meeting, in the margins of the 77th Session of the United Nations General, has urged international Summits to set “ambitious targets and agreed mechanisms aimed at providing more solutions and greater opportunities for sustainable economic growth, innovation and job creation.”

The Minister also stated that the immediate objectives for the 3Gs meeting should include: a financial architecture that responds to the developmental challenges of the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Highly Indebted Middle Income Countries (HIMICS); addressing climate change mitigation and adaptation in all regions and speedy implementation of decisions and mandates.
