Minister Terrelonge prepares for the 10th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora

Caption: Ahead of the 10th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference scheduled for June, the Honourable Alando Terrelonge, Minister of State with responsibility for Diaspora Affairs, recently orchestrated a series of strategic meetings with the Global Jamaica Diaspora Council (GJDC). The meetings were aimed at fostering collaborative initiatives and setting a robust agenda for the upcoming conference.

During the meetings, Minister Terrelonge highlighted the crucial impact of Diaspora engagement in national development. He recognised its significant contributions across diverse sectors including education, health, environment, sports, visual and performing arts, as well as trade and commerce, among others.

The GJDC is the successor to the Jamaica Diaspora Advisory Board. Its conception arose out of the need to strengthen the mechanisms responsible for enhancing Diaspora engagement, expanding the reach and participation of members of the Diaspora globally.
