UK Strategy for the Caribbean Centred on Values, Prosperity & Protecting People

In response to the briefing on the United Kingdom Strategy for the Caribbean, Senator the Hon. Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, highlighted that the Strategy would “connect the dots between policies and actual events.”  She also welcomed the UK’s understanding of the impact that designation of middle income status has on Small Island Developing States ability to access assistance funding in the aftermath of a natural disaster, for example.

 

The briefing was conducted by a team from the British High Commission and led by H.E. Asif Ahmad, British High Commissioner to Jamaica, took place at Trafalgar House the residence of the High Commissioner.
