Ambassador-Designate from Sweden presents Copy Letters

Caption: Mr. Anders Bengtcén, Ambassador-designate of Sweden to Jamaica presented his Copy Letters of Credentials to Her Excellency Ambassador Janice Miller, Chief Technical Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, at the Ministry’s downtown, Kingston headquarters. H.E. Bengtcén expressed: gratitude for Jamaica’s support in its stance against Russia’s attack on Ukraine; Sweden’s admiration for Jamaica’s culture, as well as its achievements in sports. He also noted that “Sweden will continue to support Jamaica and other Small Island Developing States’ efforts to mitigate and combat the effects of climate change.”

In addition to welcoming Sweden’s support of SIDs’ climate change mitigation efforts, Amb. Miller expressed Jamaica’s desire to secure with Sweden, a niche market space for Jamaica’s rum, spices, coffee and other products.

The diplomats also discussed candidatures. At the same time, they also agreed on the seriousness of the situation in Haiti.
