Jamaica-China Bilateral Meeting marks new era for cooperation

Caption:  Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator the Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith on Saturday, January 20 held a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.

The bilateral discussion was centred on strengthening technical cooperation between Jamaica and China to include health, agriculture, science and education.

Earlier today, Minister Wang Yi paid a Courtesy Call on Prime Minister Holness, who was accompanied by other members of the Cabinet.

Minister Wang Yi is the first Foreign Minister of China to have visited the island in the last 20 years.
