Jamaica-China Friendship Association Banquet

For 43 years, the China-Jamaica Friendship Association has been an integral part of the 47-year, Jamaica-China diplomatic relationship.

It was therefore fitting that on Sunday, October 13, the Association, hosted a banquet at the Jamaica Pegasus in honour of the historic milestone of the 70th anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Expressing confidence that the bilateral cooperation will continue on the basis of a win-win philosophy and shared benefits, Minister Johnson Smith, in her toast, highlighted the “pivotal role of the Association in enhancing the inter-connectedness between Jamaica and China relations”. She also noted that the two countries are “currently partnering on infrastructure development, investing in Jamaica’s human resource capacity, forging new pathways in trade and investment, and advancing in cooperation in health, culture and sports.”
