In her introductory remarks to the virtual briefing of the Diplomatic Corps by the Office of Disaster Preparedness (ODPEM) on Tuesday, July 14, Minister Johnson Smith advised of the importance of an emergency response coordinator within each mission, in addition to other disaster mitigation efforts.
As of June 1, Jamaica has been in the Hurricane Season, which ends on November 30.
