Minister Leslie Campbell meets with stakeholders of Japanese company, Marubeni Power International.

Caption: Senator the Honourable Leslie Campbell, Minister of State in the Foreign Ministry today (June 27) met with Mr. Daisuke Arai, President and CEO of Marubeni Power International Inc, and other representatives.

During the meeting, the Minister was apprised of JPS’ current operations in Jamaica and the region, including the company’s plans to expand of one of its Power Plants in Jamaica.

They also discussed the company’s efforts to convert to renewable energy, in keeping with Jamaica’s thrust to have its energy supply at 50% renewables by 2030.

Marubeni is a power business development company, with 40% shares in JPS.
