State Minister receives Courtesy Call from Norwegian Ambassador to

Caption: State Minister, Senator the Honourable Leslie Campbell received a Courtesy Call from Norwegian Ambassador to Jamaica, Her Excellency Beate StirØ on Wednesday, November 30.

 

During the discussion, the Minister indicated Jamaica’s interest in expanding educational and training cooperation with Norway, notably with respect to the Caribbean Maritime University (CMU). He also thanked the Ambassador for her country’s technical assistance in offering scholarships to Jamaican students.

With respect to trade, the State Minister noted that food products, particularly saltfish are Jamaica’s major imports from Norway.

They also spoke about matters pertaining to the Blue Justice Initiative, candidatures as well as plastic pollution in ocean.
